James Makawa

This week on African Voices…Zimbabwean broadcaster James Makawa.

Makawa is co-founder of the Africa Channel, an award-winning network broadcasting programs to millions in the U.S., U.K. and Caribbean. There are plans to eventually broadcast the Africa Channel in Africa. Makawa intends to use the power of television to change stereotypes of Africa by providing different images of the continent. He says Africans have “the knowledge, the experience and the capability to tell their own story in a world class way.” Makawa is pursuing additional television ventures that promote Africa.
