Emmanuel Jal
Sudanese rapper and former child soldier Emmanuel Jal fought as a child soldier in Sudan’s civil war for five years. But with the help of a British aid worker, Jal escaped to Kenya, where he began to channel his emotions and experiences into rhymes. He is now an internationally acclaimed hip-hop star with a mission to educate the world about his story. Jal is also passionate about his charity, Gua Africa, which helps rehabilitate child soldiers and arms young kids in war zones with education.
