IN FOCUS: DUBAI AND THE CREDITORS

It was the $10 billion dollar bailout that sent stocks in the United Arab Emirates through the roof. The Central Bank gave Dubai the funds to pay of Nakheel’s sukuk this week, but will it be enough to appease the creditors? MME takes a look.

FACETIME: MAHA AL-GHUNAIM, CHAIRPERSON, GLOBAL INVESTMENT HOUSE

As Dubai World continues the process of restructuring, MME talks to the head of one company that has recently finished its own restructuring process, Kuwait’s Global Investment House. The company restructured $1.7 billion of debt after having to default on $200 million in December 2008.  Maha al-Ghunaim is the Managing Director of Global Investment House and talks about how the global credit crisis affected her company and what more can be done by governments to limit the impact of the global credit crisis.
