Doha

After just 40 years as an independent state, Qatar's ruling elite are building the gulf's latest "brave new world." The world largest supplier of liquefied natural gas, is now the wealthiest nation per capita. CNN's Richard Quest explores Doha's grand ambitions and its rising skyline. With a backdrop of the iconic Museum of Islamic Art, Quest meets the Emir's daughter, H.E. Sheikha Mayassa, cited as the most influential figure in the global art market. She talks up Doha’s growing cultural credentials and the importance of dedicating 2.8% of the country's GDP to research and development.
