Revealed
SHOW #20
Roland Emmerich
German-born film director Roland Emmerich has been behind some of the last decade's biggest cinematic thrills, including the destruction of the White House in 'Independence Day', one of Hollywood's highest grossing movies of all time. 'Revealed' in March follows Emmerich as he prepares for the release of his latest visual extravaganza, '10,000 BC' with a rumored budget of over $100 million and special effects even more ambitious than any of his previous projects.
Emmerich has built a career in creating the quintessential Hollywood fantasy film, but 'Revealed' provides an insight into the man who likes to stay out of the limelight and prefers his European residence to the LA lifestyle. Traversing these two worlds, the show joins Emmerich in his lavish LA home, where he plays host to his friends at a traditional German schnitzel night.
In the heart of London, Emmerich works on the final stages of post production, where half-empty scenes, shot on the terrains of New Zealand and Namibia, are transformed into CGI generated mammoth hunts.
Viewers can witness reaction and the challenges involved as Emmerich boldly decides to host the world premiere of the film in Berlin rather than in the U.S. Will the reaction of Emmerich's legions of supporters in Germany be enough to launch the film on a worldwide scale, and can the director live up to the expectations of his home nation?
