The Screening Room

SHOW #36

Berlinale turns 60

The Screening Room is in Berlin for a movie milestone as one of the world's most important film festivals reaches 60. We'll look back at some of the key moments in the Berlinale's history - and forward to the Shooting Stars - the young talent rising to the top tier of European cinema.  Martin Scorsese will be in town to premiere his new film "Shutter Island."

Roman Polanski won't be there for the world premiere of "The Ghost Writer" as the director remains under house arrest in Switzerland awaiting the outcome of his extradition battle.  And there will be a blast from the past with a restored version of the classic film "Metropolis" made at Babelsberg studios near Berlin.
