The Screening Room

SHOW #6

Music at the Movies

In August The Screening Room focuses on three of the world's top film score composers - Hans Zimmer, Lifetime Academy Award-winner Ennio Morricone (The Mission, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly) and AR Rehman who has sold over 200 million albums and collaborated with Andrew Lloyd Webber to produce the hit musical Bombay Dreams.

What is the true role of music in a movie? How do composers work with directors? And, with forthcoming features (Vivaldi and Bob Dylan films are currently in production), why do musicians make such compelling subjects for films? It's theme which strikes a chord with The Screening Room's Myleene Klass - herself a classically trained pianist, violinist and singer who trained at Britain's prestigious Guildhall school and Royal Academy of Music.
