The Spirit of…Team

In June The Spirit of…takes a look at the role of The Team….and examines how teams work on the sports field and in society.

To help in our search for the true Spirit of The Team we talk to European footballing legends, Zinedine Zidane, Michel Platini and Johan Cruyff.

Away from football we look at the world of competitive sailing and talk to the three times America’s Cup winner Russell Coutts as he prepares for a regatta in Austria.

In the program we also examine the role teamwork can play in improving society concentrating on LA’s Compton Cricket Club – a team set up with the aim of providing the city’s youth with an alternative to gang life.

Finally, we look at whether the lessons learnt on the sports field are transferable to other disciplines. To that end Becky interviews former British MP and Olympic champion Sebastian Coe.
