CNN Project Life

CNN Project Life is a 3-show series hosted by Dr. Sanjay Gupta. The program is designed to help people enrich their lives by achieving a balance of life and work, using the mind, body and spirit.

Show 1
Slow Food Movement

The slow food movement aims to counteract fast food and life. It aims to reverse the disappearance of local food and tradition and re-ignite people's interest in food by looking at where it comes from, how it tastes, and how our food choices affect the rest of the world.

Day in the Life of a Life Coach

How do we balance our lives? Let’s ask a professional. International author (The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari) and “success coach” Robin Sharma counsels businesses and CEOs (and anyone who wants to know) about how to get the most out of life. We’ll follow Robin as he counsels a client 15,000 feet up during an airplane ride, advises Canada’s local governments on how to de-stress their lives, contemplates writing a new book on a nature hike (he says most people get their best ideas out of the office) – all in time to pick his kids up from school. Colleen McEdwards reports.

Show 2
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Art of Living Foundation

His foundation in Bangalore helps disaster victims around the world. He developed the U.N.’s Universal Declaration of Human Values. We visit Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s ashram in Bangalore (along with students from around the world) to hear his teachings and learn how to apply them to our busy and stressful lives. Seth Doane reports.

Ultra Running

These athletes run circles around regular marathoners! In New York, more than 50 runners will gather for the 12th annual 10 Day Self-Transcendence Race. The race goes around the clock for 240 hours. Some runners run an average of 20 hours a day. The record holder ran a total of 901 miles. It’s the ultimate test of physical, mental and spiritual stamina. The event is hosted by meditation guru Sri Chinmoy. Maggie Lake reports.

Show 3
Lost Girls

Many people are taking “career breaks” to re-energize their careers and spirit. We catch up with a group of friends who left their posh NYC jobs to travel the world. They call themselves the Lost Girls. We see what they have found on the road on the last stop before they head home.
