The Rise of Golf in Italy

For so long a minor golf nation, Italy now holds the golf World Cup, had three players qualify for the Masters for the first time ever, and has produced arguably the best young amateur in the World, Matteo Manassero, winner of the silver cup at Augusta and the silver medal at the British Open. Living Golf spends a day with the 17-year-old Manassero as he prepares to turn professional, talks to the Molinari brothers, who triumphed at the World Cup and asks whether their success will help drive all levels of golf in Italy. The program visits a scheme to develop young Italian players and looks at initiatives to grow Italy’s golf tourism, including new courses on Sicily.
