This month, MainSail comes from the 2008 Star World Championships hosted in Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida. The Star boat is a classic design that has stood the test of time attracting some of sailing’s greats, despite having been first launched nearly 100 years ago. Host Shirley Robertson will delve into the history of this class and discover what keeps drawing the competitors into the class. Plus she will be onboard with British Olympic hopefuls Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson during a practice session.

As well as the racing action from the Star Worlds, we’ll bring you all the drama from the Farr 40 world championships. Also competed for off the coast of Miami, this class never disappoints providing some of the closest inshore racing in the world. The fleet is littered with Olympians, America’s Cup sailors and offshore veterans and yet it is impossible to predict the winner.
