Open Court
SHOW #23
Hopman Cup
Open Court joins the rest of the tennis world and travels to Australia for this month's edition of Open Court. Pat Cash hosts this edition from Perth, Australia. Perth is home to the Hopman Cup. This tournament invites pairs from eight countries. The teams (China, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Spain, U.S. and Australia) square off in singles and mixed doubles. Many of the top stars of today have never played mixed doubles competitively. Pat steps in with some "mixed doubles" tips. He teams up with Bethanie Mattek-Sands (USA) to take on the Bulgarian team of Tsvetana Pironkova and Grigor Dimitrov.
Pat also sits down with Caroline Wozniacki. She's finished 2010 and 2011 as the highest ranked women's player in the world. She also has a high profile romance with golfer Rory McIlroy. Caroline talks candidly with Pat about life on and off the court.
And finally - it's a walk down memory lane for Pat and Australian great Fred Stolle. The men talk over Australian tennis - past, present and future.
